I have a 90 4x soft top, it used to be blue and now it's just muddy.
I want to post a pic of it on a crazy hill kind of balancing on three wheels. I thought it was going to roll again. but a friend of mine was loving it.
I'm on a tight budget, and for me, this is mostly a parts car donor, but I've been keeping it in a fairly decent running condition.
I'd like to look at options for a real roll cage, bigger motor and for a solid front axle like rock junkie did to his.

For a roll cage worthy of such a name, you'd need a tube bender, a stock of steel tubing, some steel sheets, and a MIG or TIG (preferable because stronger welds). Having a bench grinder with a rounding wheel helps for better fit where the tubes meet at 90 degrees. Or, a specialized shop miht be able to do all of the work for a decent price... As far as power goes, You could rebuild the engine with a kit (suck as one Rocky-Road has: www.rocky-road.com/kickengine.html ) would proide some results, but a gearing change might be cheaper and bring some similar results (depends on your needs). As far as the solid axle goes, that's out of my league, sorry! Louis

unless your goin real extreme with your kik the IFS will be of, but if your doin more than a 3 inch suspension lift i wouldnt bother, with 3 inch susp and 3 inch body lifts you can easily fit 31s. 33s with slight trimming. as for power, you can either do gearing changes, run a dual T case setup or as far as hop ups, you would be better doin a diesel swap over a v6/v8 swap. less weight on the lil deisel and can be tuned for more than enuf power for these lil rigs. as for a cage i would go exo if you have any concerns about body damage, if the body is disposable, just do a regular cage. just my 2 pennies

Hey I am actually looking for a diesel swap kit, and some more info. My tracker is great, but still not the most powerful thing out there. A diesel would definitely add some low end grunt for moving some bigger tires. So anyone know where to find more info on the subject?
