About a year ago, I noticed that whenever it gets cold, I have a problem with the auto shifter going into Drive. When I first start the vehicle, no problem. Press the brake, move the shifter, drive away.
However, if you only drive for a few minutes and put the shifter in park, it seems to lock. You either have to wait several minutes for things to warm up, or sometimes, through a combination of jiggling and brute force you can get it to pop out of park and intro drive again.
Any idea what is going on and what the easiest solution is?
