I'm Rick. I've owned this 1998 Sidekick 4dr Sport (Limited) for about 4 years. It has 138,000 miles on it, and not a real problem yet. Hope I won't need any tech advice, but probably will sooner or later. I like to drive it better now than when I first bought it. It kinda grows on a person. Basic, fun transportation.

Hello fellow Suzuki enthusiasts. I am a 26 year old male currently working at a collision shop in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Anyways I have had two sidekicks, one samurai, a verona and most currently an 06 grand vitara lux model. I started working at my current job 7 months ago and come to find out the boss has a bunch of brand new body parts here for a sidekick. Apparently he had a cust a few years back that he ordered fender, bump cover etc. for an cust never showed. Boss tried to return parts but dealership wasn't having it. Anyway they have just been sitting here since. My job was to come in and clean up the parts and make everthing work better. My boss was going to just toss out these parts and call it a loss. Well i figured someone outhere could put this to good use. Please send me an email if you are seriously interested and I can send a complete list of what I have. Going to sell very cheap. These are oem parts going to sell way under even dealer cost. Email and I will send pictures if you like....................................nshields@classicautoup.com.........................

Hey, how you doin'. I just got a 1998 side kick from a friends mother who was good enough to help me when my '91 dodge carevan finally gave up the ghost. She knew I needed a car to keep my job and pretty much gave the Sport to me. It is in good condition, has 115,000 miles but has been well maintained and I hope to enjoy using it for some time. (The '91 dodge was new when I bought it so obviously I tend to keep cars for a little while.) The Sport has a few nagging problems. The rear seats wouldn,t fold. Fixed 'em. The rear door wouldn,t open. Fixed it. Can,t change the time on the radio. Project for another day. (And what is with this cd player that looks like a tape cassette should fit in it.) My most pressing problem right now is the driver's automatic window won,t open. I,d appreciate any suggestions. Bewell and drive safly.DJH

Just purchased a 1996 SUZUKI SIDEKICK SPORT JX/JLX today. I'm more familiar with Geo Trackers (have a 1997 and love it), but I think I'm gonna like this one as well. Got it home today and it decided to stop cranking...but my wife was trying to 'relearn' how to drive a manual and the battery seemed weak so I'm hoping the issue is just that she killed the battery. Got a couple random Suzuki remotes in the glove box with just one button on them, not sure what those are for?? There's also a switch to the left of the steering wheel with a red light??? Then there's the alarm that I'm not sure how it's controlled.....needless to say, the lady I purchased it from today didn't have much info about the vehicle. Hoping to find some good info here.
I live in Georgia, the Sidekick has also had a home in Pennsylvania and North Carolina so it's seen it's share of snow and salt and now rust. Any help would be greatly appreciated as it needs some TLC.
