I have a 1996 Tracker with the Sanden SD7B10 compressor. I suspect that the previous owner added 134 with oil one too many times. I also suspect that that AC system is low on power just because they weren't so good back then. I live in the Keys where we have 95f and 80% humidity and I am emptying the system fixing the leak and refilling with the correct amts of oil and 134. I have 134, vacuum pump and manifold.. I replaced the schrader (where the leak was) valves and dryer and any O-rings where I worked. I removed the compressor and drained the oil. The compressor label says 90cc of "oil 8". I found a chart that says Sanden # 15 oil which is PAG 46.
I also did something dumb and disconnected a hose at he compressor after forgetting to evacuate the system and so the oil has left the system....."cleanup on aisle Tracker." Here are the questions I know I need to add that 90cc's to the compressor and also oil to compensate for the replacement dryer but where does it go? The Sanden service manual says to add it it in the Oil Filler but this one hasn't got one. On other vehicles I have added it to the low side when I add the 134A after drawing a vacuum. Is that OK here? What is that odd "tail" that comes out of the rear of the compressor. It looks like a vent.
Is there anything else I can do to get the maximum cooling out of it? Those systems were not like today's and between the black convertible top and the big windows it gets hot!
Sorry for the long post but If I didn't tell all things get confused later.

The answer to the question about where is the oil filler is that the odd thing on the back is it. It can be unbolted to fill or empty.
