If you drive a Kia Soul manufactured between January July 21, 2013 and January 8, 2015, you’ll want to pay attention to his announcement. Kia is recalling all of their Soul models manufactured between these dates because of reports of the accelerator pedal bending or breaking leading to the increased risk of a crash. In all, the recall affects 208,858 cars.
Fortunately, the defect is easily remedied. Kia will be adding a layer of rubber underneath the pedal stopper on these cars free of charge. The recall campaign begins later this month. In the meantime, make sure you are insured as a broken accelerator pedal is a recipe for disaster.
