It turns over but won't fire. When I turn the key on, there is a lot of chattering, some of which sounds like it's coming from the ECM and other in the engine compartment. Could the ECM be shot?
Thanks.

loud clicking noise under dash,...this is a common and serious problem with tracker/sidekick. there are 3 solutions1: ecu is bad and over loads the power feed. fuel pump shorting ,or fuse block wire

I have the same problem. Relays are clicking. I have fuel at the fuel block, spark and the hot wire to the injectors has juice. The test light pulses when I crank it over. It will start if I squirt some fuel in the intake. Have checked all of the fuses. I'm down in Mexico in a small village with no parts stores. If I order parts I'll have to get them from the states. I'd like to do as much troubleshooting as possible to be as sure as possible what the problem is before I order parts.

I had the same problem with my 92 sidekick JX. There is a switch behind the drivers front speaker. activate the switch and turn the ignition on, if the ecm is working there will be flash codes. If the check engine light stays on without flashing, the ECM has failed. I had the same problem, troubleshot for days. Finally checked in manual and found how to pull flash codes. You might have to remove the speaker to gain access to the switch but it is there. It's small with I think two or three wires running to it. I ended replacing my ECM. cost me 450.00 but i got 100.00 back when i returned the core. I got it from www.autoecms.com 877-687-3267. After i replaced ECM I haven't had anymore problems with it. ECM is a common failure for sidekick with it's age, the capacitors on the board start to leak and bleed out the acid onto the board which causes it short. You can visually verify this by disassembling the ecm and looking between the board and black CAPS. The one closest to the connector plug is the most common for leaking.

If I put gas in the intake it starts And I have to feather the gas to keep it going that’s sometimes it will stay running
