Installed a 2" coil lift on my 1989 Sidekick last week. I drove around all week in 2wd with no problems. Yesterday I went out on a day long desert run. About 2 hrs into the run I started to hear a rubbing noise from the front. This noise would only last a second or 2 and only happened about 5 times all day. I need to replace the CV boots. After looking at prices, I found rebuilt shafts for just a little more money. I just don't know if the noise is coming from the hubs, bearings, or CV joints. But because the noise happens only in 4wd, I am leaning toward the CV joints. But there is no play in the shafts. Shouldn't there be play in the shafts if the CV joints are bad? Any suggestions? Thanks, John
