We are looking for a car for my sixteen year old daughter. She is in love with a '95 2D 2WD Convertible Sidekick that we drove today. What do you think, safety wise?

I could never really understand why people would buy an SUV if it didnt even have 4WD on it, why not just buy a car and get better gas mileage. As for safety, ive been in 3 accidents with mine and all seem to have left very little damage to the car. The only problem with Sidekick is the tippiness of them, but as long as you take corners at a decent speed its fine.

I have had my sidekick since 93 and never had any issues with roll-overs. Certainly like all SUVs they have a higher centre of gravity, but I have had people cut me off which required me to pull on the steering wheel very hard, so much so that I spun the vehicle around, and there was no indication that the wheels were coming off the pavement at all. I know the Samurais had problems with rollovers, but they were much narrower in their wheelbase. I would recommend it as a good, reliable, and safe vehicle.
