NEWBIE! We have a 1990 GMC Tracker 4x4auto softtop. we live in BC, on our last 3 trips into the local hills, (on WARM days) the temp gauge climbs to hot, when we stop at the top the the engine blows all the coolant out of the plastic resevior and radiator. I carry water for drinking so when it cools down I can top it up again, 1st time I checked for leaks replaced the 195d thermostat for a 180, drove around 200km normal roads not a problem, next trip up the logging road different place same thing, back home, checked for leaks not a problem, parked over a sheet of cardboard ran engine for 20 mins at various speeds not a problem no leaks! Next trip out different place same thing. Have replaced prior to this as regular maintenance Plugs/Cap&rotor/ Timing belt/Fanbelt/ Reset valveclearances etc etc. Do I have a blown headgasket or what?. I am eagerly waiting a good response, Thanks Old Codger.
