I'm new to this forum but have searching for an answer to my problem for months and I hope someone can help. I have a 92 sidekick 16valve 1.6 5 speed. When i drive this wagon cold it runs perfect but once it warms up the hesitation or hickup starts. if I stop and let it go back to idle and then slowly bring up the RPM it does fine unti it hits 1900rpm then it just stalls until the rpm gets down to 1500 then it resumes. if I time it with just the right amount of preasure on the gas pedal i can just watch the rpm jump back and forth between 1900 and 1500. I recently had a friend who has an "early style" diagnostic computer (hand held jobbie) and he plugged it up to my kick and had me make it surge. He showed me that while the rpm's are dropping during the surge that the power is being completely cut off to the injectors. they are operating at a normal rate and then all of a sudden at 1900 rpm they go to zero power then resume again as normal at about 1500. If I short shift it while driving and keep the rpm's low enough that the engine has a load on it it doesen't do it. I've checked for all vacume leaks and the sensor in the air intake. Any help would ne appreciated.

I would check your EGR valve ....a clogged valve can cause this problem.
good luck Lucy

I am having the same problem with my 91 sidekick. I was wondering if you ever found a fix for yours?
