I just replaced my Eclipse cd player with a Sony from a friend of mine (im cheap). Everything works fine until I turn on the headlights , then a fuse blows. I replaced the the 15amp fuse with a 25amp. I turned on the car , turned on the head lights and the same thing happened. I then realized , I may be shorting out because the Eclipse deck has a wire that has to be ran to your head lights , so that when you turn on your lights the buttons illuminate on the cd player. I tapped the end of it off so that it wouldnt hit anything metal , but this time i used a 5amp to replace the blown 25amp fuse....I was out of fuses. I turned on the car and the same thing happened. Now my old eclipse stereo had a switch on the back that you had to set , it had a A and B for the different types of ignitions. I didnt look for it on the Sony , should I try that ? Someone please mail me and let me know what to do .... Again , when I turn on the car , the cd player works fine , but when I turn on the head lights , the fuse for the Dome/tail lights blow , taking down the tails , dome , interior lights , and the cd player. EMAIL ME ASAP , PLLLLLEASE !
