This is a classic, I dont know what is wrong with my sidekick's idle post, Ive been searching for a while to find the problem but nobody has really been able to tell me. This is my scenario.. its an 89 JX 1.6 8V
The sidekicks idle jumps sometimes, and sometimes it doesnt. By jump i mean, increase to 1500 quickly then drop, sometimes it just increases to 1500-1750 and stays put there. These occurances only happen when the lights or the fan is on. my fuse box is missing front of four fuses and the plug is unplugged. The fuse is a 30A, the plug that connects underneath to the fusebox is unplugged (bought it this way dont know what its for). The car when in this high idle splutters very slightly here and there, when i have my foot down at that same RPM on the road driving, there is no sputtering. When its has the high idle problem i can here the air intake sucking in in spurts, kinda like a popping sound, when driving normally this does not happen.
Thats all I can give you guys for now, im putting the stock airbox on tomorrow and i just put a muffler (2 feet cut from a honda civic exhaust) and put it on after the cats. Im doing a fluid swap soon and going to figure out how to put in a block heater.
