I was wondering if its possible to do a small lift without having to much to modify. So an easy, reliable and cheap lift. Doesnt need to be 5". I know Rock Junky knows quite a bit about offroading and makes most of his mods himself.....any ideas?

Hey Guys, I just bought a '91 Tracker to fix up and want to do a bit of a lift on it. I don't know if I really want to go 5" but 2 or 3" would be fine...anyway, I would like to know if the suspension part of this lift brought up any abnormal wear issues on the front tires, CV joints or anything else? Also did it make handling any worse even after the alignment was completed? I also want to put a snow plow on it and was wondering if there is anything I should be aware of in that department. Well, thanks and have a great day . Tim

I did my lift in 2 days I did a 10 cm lift and the only problem is the stearing you have to lbuild a bracket caus it becomes to short and the hose to the gas tank becomes to short and you have to mod the gear changer

Thanks Sidekick91 I will remember that while lifting my truck. Did you just lift the body or did you do a lift on the suspension as well? Also, what size tires are on your truck? Thanks, Tim

I'm planning to do the same thing, I'd like to put a snowplow on, but I'd like to stiffen the front end to handle the load, i've seen people with plows on their tracker, and when the plow is lifted is sags so much in the front, the tires are almost in the fender. I figure a 2" lift would help. Anyone have any suggestions?

Does someone has ONLY coil spacers on their rig? I wonder how it rides and how much lift you could get.....?

So NO one has coil spacers? A guy from another board got me into building my own homemade spacers. I got dimension, materials and tools, but I still need a bit of info about how to install them, so if anyone can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi 3wheel, are you talking about the kind that just fits on top or under the coil springs? If so, I could probably help. Let me know.

Yes LOU, thats exactly it. Its seems like its the cheapest way to get a small lift. I even talked to a few guys that made there own spacers outta plywood. But I plan on cutting my own out of fram mats. (its thick rubber that the cows walk on) Well I kinda know how to cut them out, but Im not sure about installing them. I heard about turning the top plates over but......

Wouldn't it be great if the Rocky Roads ones were cheaper. Well at least that gives you an idea about the idea shape.
The procedure is basically to relieve the pressure on the springs enough so that they become loose; then you put the spacers. Rear ones are quite easy to do, front ones need a bit more disassembly.
Next Sidekick I get (this year or next...), I'll definitely go that route

Did you flip the strut mounts in the front?? I heard that in order to reassemble the front coils with a spacer on, you need to flip the mount.....

Good question. I'm at my mechanic's shop tomorrow, the Sidekick will be up in the air (need to remove broken bolts that use to hold the downpipe to the manifold ) So I'll take that chance to look at it and ask the man. Louis
