My sidekick came with factory hooks located under the bumpers, 2 in the rear and one in the front. Are those strong enough to be used when I get stuck. Im not a hardcore offroader, should I weld stronger ones or those are good enough?

Those this will blow your mind how strong they are if you are able to break them off i would be blown. Ive had my car stuck in more then 1 foot of mud and my dads bobcat pulled in out with the hook going fullforce backwards, basically yanking on the hook and its still fine. You shouldnt even have to use the hooks at all though anyways. The only reason i even got tsuck was because my tires were completlt crap, i was offroading with normal tires. The part that i got stuck on was a hill and my dad just cleared a little mud out of the way and it was fine from there on.

Perfect, I didnt feel like getting new ones, but I wanted to make sure they could resist pressur a bit. Im planning on bringing along a manual hand winch that ive used in the past with great success, so my hooking point will be the factory hooks. Thnak You

actually guys I've seen those factory tie downs (hooks) get ripped off in a hurry, I preffer real tow hooks welded to the frame , you can get away with the factory tie downs for a while but I recomend that you have someone re enforce them with a nice bead of weld.
