Hey all, To answer some of your questions. The most important type of rock protection is sliders. These are designed to protect the rocker panels on your vehicle. This was the first mod I did on mine. These are the Calmini Rocker Skid Bars. The difference is that mine are designed for bolt on. This is a great feature since I have had to take them off and straighten them. The next skid plate I would get is the Transfer Skid Plate. The price on the Calmini is not to bad. Again I made my skid plate from plastic with a reinforced backing. For both of these Items I made my own, and it ended up costing me about half. It would be my recomendation to do a 2" body lift. For the most part you can stretch stuff and cut down on the amount of work that needs to be done. The one item that becomes difficult with a body lift is the cutting of the shift levers. I would take it to a professional to have it done. OK next question was on Winches. When I did mine, I removed the front bumper and extended the front frame 5". Then I added a 2"x3" 1/4 wall tube up in front to protect the front end smashing that I do. I then added some spreaders from this front bar back to the radiator bar. This allowed me to install a Warn 8000# winch in the space between the grill and base. When I fabbed all this up i ended up designing a new bull bar and light surrounds at the same time. I can show you pictures if you want. You can e-mail me at dlister@digitalglobe.com
Thanks all, Dale

I live down in Mexico and my 1992 sidekick with a 78 porsche body is always off road. One problem I have here is with electronics. I live in a moist jungle terrain. I've read in the past about conversions from fuel injection to carb. I've read all the arguments against and my response is that I have over 40 years experience as a mechanic and have the skills to do the conversion away from a computer. One thing I have to take in to consideration here is being able to repair the vehicle when I'm out in the middle of nowhere, which is most of the time. So, any suggestions for parts or a link to a site where I can get the parts for a conversion. Any conversion experience to share? Thanks.
