Transmission swap from 1.8L to 1.6L - Possible?

I have a '96 Sidekick Sport 4x4 5 speed manual transmission, 1.8L engine. It is having an issue with 4th gear. It will go into gear, but is hard to get out of it. The throwout bearing, pressure plate and clutch was just replaced. I have a '95 Chevy Tracker with a 5 speed manual transmission but it has a 1.6L engine. Can I swap the two transmissions or are there any suggestions? I can't find a transmission for this thing anywhere in western Pa. Please help!

To the best of my knowledge it will work if the 1.6 engine is a 16 valve ....I'm not 100% on that so I will do some research through my sources for you and see if I can get you a definitive yes or no....should have some info in a couple days at most!
