ATF in transfer case?!?! Help!

I have a 1989 Suzuki Sidekick, have a leaky transmission, it is a 3 speed automatic, but upon diagnosing where leak is coming from I thought while i was under the SUV i would check the trasfer case level. when i took out the fill plug, it puked out prob half to one full quart out the fill hole!! So that is not a good thing

any sugestions? thanks!!!

Is the transfer case supposed to have gear oil? if so what kind?

is the trans output shaft seal hard to change ?
