96 SIDEKICK SPORT 1.8 litre DOHC-
I have a faulty crank positions sensor DTC PO335...... Can someone please advise me exactly where it is located because I have looked everywhere I think underneath the engine but I can't seem to find it for the life of me. I used a scanner but all reference sources tell me contradicting info as to it's actual location!
I can change it if I can find it and I have ample spare parts with a donor vehicle but I wish it would come out of hiding so I can get rid of this check engine

I checked online on alldata pro and it shows the Crank sensor is on the opposite end of the oil pan as the drain plug is! So far alldata has been pretty reliable for me i havent looked on our suzuki yet to see if it is located there but ill ck and see! Hope this helps Johnnie B.

It's actually hidden behind the flywheel; unfortunately the transmission needs to be removed to replace it!
Fortunately it only annoys me with the check engne light but doesn't cause any mechanical fault or driveability concern.
6000 mile roadtrip and still kickin!
Awesome durable motor now reaching 300,000 km.

Ok, so here's my dilemma. I have a 98 sidekick, and a faulty crank position sensor. Car runs just fine, but I can't pass emissions in CA because the engine light.
Apparently with the position that it's located it would cost a boat-load of money to replace the sensor. Would hate to spend a ton of money if there's any tricks that suzuki dealers or specialists know about how to do this cheaply. Any one have any thoughts?
THANKS
