I got a little original with mine. Mine was so frozen, the best oil only got it to sticky. What i did was take the interior door panel off, and i rerigged and bent some linkages so that when you turn the key in the lock in the right direction, it pops the door. Its been a while since i did it and i dont remember exactly how, but it can be done, and may work out for you. Hope this helps. ;D Sounds like a great solution once the handle is broken! How do I get the door open without the handle itself? I don`t want to resort cutting the panel to get at it if I can help it. thanks.

How is it supposed to spring back normally if there is no spring in stock set up?
I've been trying to find a diagram but can't.
I just bought an old 96 Sidekick and the rear door has the same problem. Guess I'll need to find some springs!
