Hi there 92,
The L does stand for Luxury, although I always thought that was a weird word when talking about Sidekicks.
THe JLX came with more standard features, and some optional ones (which ones, I don't know). The JX came with less standard features, and some options were not available.
That is my humble contribution,
Louis

My JLX does have AC and cassette as well as the auto 4 wheel drive (I don't have to stop and get out to change to 4WD L or High, just stop and change to 4WD. That I assume would be a 'luxury' item, especially in the winter! Any other thoughts? OkieSidekick

(wonder what the first year for auto hubs was...??)
Never mind.... I just found them in my '90 Owners manual...

don`t know if it helps to work out any answers, but mine is down on the log book as being a "QJLX".. ok i have elec. mirrors, auto hubs, 5 speed manual, but i don`t have elec. windows or air con. (i think the air con. might be standard equip. over in US and CAN. etc. because of tempretures over there) ..The suspension is pretty hard and in fact handles more like a car than a 4x4.. So here`s something else to think about...What does the "Q" in "QJLX" stand for? i sure as heck don`t know..
